Partnering with Adopters and Caretakers to Help Dogs and Cats

PENNY, 2 YEARS-OLD, DSH , FEMALE: Meet Penny! Penny is a sweet playful kitty that would prefer to be the only cat. She does enjoy the company of a kitty friendly dog though! She likes to lay beside you on the couch or in bed, but doesn't really care to be picked up. Penny was bottle fed as a kitten as her mother passed away after she was born. She is currently 2 years old. Her foster mom planned on keeping her, but feels that she would really be happier in a home where Penny could be the center of attention. Penny also has a couple of allergies that would require special care. She is allergic to plastic – so her food bowls would need to be stainless or ceramic and her toys would need to be fabric or canvas. She also has an allergy to fleas – so it is important that she be kept on a flea preventative. Please don't let these things make you turn away from her, Penny is a sweetheart and really wants a home where she can be her playful, loving self. Penny is up to date on all her vaccinations (Fvrcp, Feline Leukemia, and Rabies), has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, has been spayed and is microchipped. If you are interested in Penny, please email today for an application!

BEAN, 9-MONTH-OLD, DACHSHUND MIX, MALE: We are guessing that Little Bean did not get what he wanted for Christmas, so he decided to make himself a present. He walked right up on to his rescuers porch on Christmas Day and made himself at home in her lap. All efforts were made to find Bean's people, but no one claimed him as their own. So now Bean is all ready to find a new forever home! Bean is very friendly and loves all the animals and people that he meets. He is good with dogs of all sizes. He does well with cats as long as they are playful with him. He will bark at them, if they hiss or try to run away. He loves to play and is a very adept jumper! Hence his name – Jumping Bean. His foster mom sometimes also calls him a Pinto Bean because of his stripes. At night when it is time for bed he is a very good snuggler and has to sleep right beside his foster mon. Under the covers if it's a cold night! We believe that Bean is approximately 9 months old and weighs 9 pounds. He looks to be a Dachshund Mix. He is mostly housetrained – although he does occasionally have an accident – he will use a pee pad. He is working on learning how to walk on a leash. Bean has been neutered, has tested negative for heartworms, is up to date on all vaccines (Dhpplv, Rabies and Bordatella) and takes a monthly Heartworm and Flea/Tick preventative. Email today for an application if you believe that Bean is the companion you have been searching for!

YVETTE, 1-2 YEARS-OLD, DSH BOBTAIL, FEMALE: Yvette is a beautiful black, bobtail female. She's a bit camera shy, so her photographs don't really do her the justice that she deserves! She can be a bit of a diva, and puts on a brave front when faced with new people and situations. But don't let her little hissy fit fool you. Once you start petting or brushing her she calms right down and before you know it she's in your arms. She would prefer a quiet home, with other cats that also enjoy the quiet life. She has bonded fairly quickly with her foster mom, so she should do the same with her new family. Yvette has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations (Fvrcp, Feline Leukemia and Rabies) and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia. She is hoping that her forever family will find her soon! Do you think you are the one? If so, email today for an application!

Mark is an funny, goofy, loving little chihuahua mix who came into rescue with his brother Matthew. We'd love to find Mark and Matthew a forever home together but would consider separating them for the right family. Mark is about 8 months old and we are estimating his birthday as March 1, 2016. He is less than 10 pounds right now and we expect that he will get no larger than 12 pound when full grown. He is full of love and energy, and gets along great with all dogs, cats and people that he meets. He is paper trained but will need an adopter who is willing to be patient with him as he learns about going outside to do his business. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations (rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza and bodetella), and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and ready for a forever family. For a family that would consider keeping Mark and Matthew together, we would accept a discounted adoption fee on the pair. If you think Mark might be the right dog for your family, email today for an adoption application!
